Public University Central Admission Test Circular 2020

University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) has said that all the public universities of the country, including Dhaka University, Bangladesh Engineering University, have agreed to take the central (integrated) admission test from this year 2020.

A meeting of the commission chaired by UGC chairman Kazi Shahidullah on Wednesday unanimously decided that all the universities of the country should take admission test simultaneously from the 2020-21 academic year.

The press release said that the Vice-Chancellor and UGC members of the 12 universities including Dhaka University, Jahangirnagar University, Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Bangladesh Engineering University, Bangladesh Agricultural University were present in the meeting.

UGC Chairman Kazi Shahidullah said, “We hope to start working full-time with the central admission test from the first week of March. The UGC will extend its full support to the universities in carrying out this program. ”

Various committees will be set up for the central admission test with the teachers of the university, he said.

This is the initiative of Education Minister Dipu Moni in conducting integrated admission tests in all public universities

Opposition to the system was taken by the Dhaka University Central Student Parliament-Dakshu.

But BUET has not made any decision on a comprehensive admission test so far.

Two days later, the chairman of the UGC criticized the decision of Dhaka University and BUET at a ceremony.

“Due to the decision of Dhaka University and Bangladesh Engineering University, the whole nation’s ‘aspirations’ cannot be underestimated. We have to be vigilant so that no one can influence others, ”he said.

Then on Tuesday, the Vice-Chancellor of the Public University Vice-Chancellor unanimously agreed to the admission test at the 22nd meeting of the Standing Committee of the Bangladesh University Council. However, the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University and BUET did not attend the meeting.

However, after the meeting of the UGC on Wednesday, the decision of the two institutions was also resolved.

Students from the science, business education and humanities disciplines will have to take the admission test in separate question papers prepared in the light of higher secondary courses. This process will also be applicable for admission to the graduating (honors) classes of colleges comprising national universities.

As the universities now take admission tests in different ways, the students who pass the HSC have to take exams from one end of the country to the other. To prepare for the same admission test, they have to prepare differently for different universities.

Instead, the government is considering taking admission tests in a few universities in one way, which is called integrated or bunching.

In this method, a student will be required to take admission once in the examination, depending on the number obtained, he will be given admission to any university in the group, as the student is admitted to medical colleges.

Authorities of Shahjalal Science and Technology University of Sylhet and the University of Jessore Science and Technology organized the admission test in a comprehensive manner, but in the end, they canceled it in the face of agitation.

In the last tenure of the government, the then education minister Nurul Islam Nahid tried to take a group-based admission test but did not see the light of opposition in opposition.

The current Education Minister, Dipu Moni, took initiative to implement the matter again last year and hoped that by 2021, admission test of universities would be possible in a coordinated manner.

Dipu Moni argues that if the admission test is done in a bunch of ways, harassment of students and waste of money will be reduced. Especially for women students, the admission opportunities will be more wide. Because now, it is not possible for them to test everywhere, even if they wish.

Application after the publication of HSC result in Comprehensive Admission Test

Application will be made online within a short period of time to publish the results of the higher and equivalent examinations for integrated admission tests in public universities. And the admission test will be completed by November. The name of the exam will be ‘Central Admission Test in Public Universities’.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Bangladesh University Council, the vice-chancellor of the government and autonomous universities at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University in the capital on Tuesday.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University and the President of the Council, chaired by Professor Kamal Uddin Ahmed, attended the meeting.

The HSC and equivalent examinations will begin next April. The meeting of the Vice-Chancellors agreed with the decision of the UGC on taking the admission test either comprehensively or centrally from the coming academic year (2021-220). However, Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University, Shirin Akhtar, said that they will take final decision on the integrated admission test by meeting of the Academic Council (Academic Council) of their university.

Earlier, at a meeting held at the University Grants Commission (UGC) on January 25, seven agricultural universities were decided to take integrated admission tests at other universities in the country. From then on the discussion began.

Also present at the meeting was Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University M Abdus Sobhan, Vice-Chancellor of National University, Harun-Or-Rashid, Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University, Mizanur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Farid Uddin Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor of Islami University, Islami Islam. Mohamed Fayek jamanasaha others.

That is why the Daksu administration and DU administration do not want integrated admission test

Dhaka University: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to take the admission test of the public universities of the country in the next academic year in a composite manner or in a bunch. But the academic council of the University of Dhaka and the Central Student Parliament (Daksu) has taken a stand against it. The logic behind this position is that the university administration is calling for the Ordinance and Autonomy of the Year. Dakshu has been opposed to the integrated admission test, fearing that the question paper leaks and the examination will not be properly evaluated.

On 7 February, a meeting of academics, former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, Dean of the Faculty and teachers of different departments was held. During the meeting, most teachers opposed the inclusion of Dhaka University in the integrated admission test. On the same day, the fourth Executive Meeting of Dakshu made a unanimous decision on keeping Dhaka University out of the integrated admission test.

Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University. Akhtaruzzaman said in the first light that the admission test is an academic subject. The Academic Council and Deans Committee of the University have jurisdiction to make the final decision on any academic matter. The admission test will be done in light of the decision they make. The Vice-Chancellor advised the reporter not to distort any information when seeking an opinion on the integrated admission test.

Vice-Chancellor of the University (Administration) Professor Muhammad Samad said that Dhaka University has not yet reached a final decision on the integrated admission test.

On the condition of anonymity, the Dean of the two faculties of the university said in the first light that Dhaka University authorities do not want an integrated admission test. Many of the teachers are opposed to the integrated admission test. Their statement is that in the Ordinance of 3, Dhaka University has been given autonomy. The integrated admission test will reduce that autonomy. Because the integrated admission test will concentrate the control of the UGC and the Ministry of Education on the autonomous university.

Meanwhile, Daksu’s VP Nurul Haque said they were opposed to the integrated admission test, fearing that the question paper leakage and admission test would not be properly evaluated. He said in the first light, “In the medical admission test, few students take the admission test. There we saw the horror of leakage of question papers. It is often seen that the teachers in charge of the exam centers also provide immoral benefits to the examiners. There are also examples of leakage of question papers in the rigorous admission test of Dhaka University. Now if all public universities take the admission test jointly, the number of candidates will not be less than three to four lakh. As a result, the severity of the question paper leak and its consequences will be severe. Besides, Dhaka University and BUET cannot be dropped in the category of other universities. The education system of these two institutions is not one, their attraction and uniqueness are different. As a result, the evaluation of admission test account will not be the same. In this, the meritorious victims may be deprived. ‘

VP Nurul also criticized some of the UGC’s decision to take a comprehensive admission test without a specific outline. He said, “UGC has made the preliminary decision to conduct an integrated admission test without any outline. They decided to test the science and technology universities, agricultural universities, general public universities and the four public universities (Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi and Jahangirnagar universities) under separate ordinance.

Public university Central Admission – How to apply?

will be published centrally for admission to public universities, and the student’s score and merit list will be published. The universities will then select the eligible students based on the number received.

Meanwhile, four universities, including Dhaka University, BUET, are no longer in direct disagreement with the new system. However, they have not yet given a final word on how to enroll students this year in a new way.

Vice-Chancellors of Dhaka University, Bangladesh Engineering University (BUET), Jahangirnagar University and Chittagong University said that the final decision will be finalized after discussing the matter with the Academic Council (Academic Council) of their university.

And the University Grants Commission (UGC) says four universities will have to make a final decision this month. Because, in the new way, when, when and in what process will undergraduate (honors) admission test, the work will start in full force from the first week of March.

A total of 12 university vice-chancellors, including the four universities, met at the UGC office in Agargaon on Wednesday. After the meeting, UGC Chairman Prof Kazi Shahidullah told reporters that the central admission test will be held this year. No one disagreed with the admission test centrally.

A Vice-Chancellor who was present at the meeting said in the first light that the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University said that there should be diversity among the universities. This diversity is the beauty of universities.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Md. Akhtaruzzaman said in the first light, that the decision will be made on the university’s education council and the general admission committee, they will move forward.

BUET Vice-Chancellor Prof Saiful Islam and Jahangirnagar University Vice-Chancellor Farzana Islam have said the same thing with the first light. Vice-Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University said that they feel that the initiative will be good in the way it was explained in yesterday’s meeting.

Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Shirin Akhtar said the final decision will be taken at the meeting of the Education Council, though the government’s initiative is considered a good initiative.

UGC sources said that UGC will continue to try the admission test with all the universities. In the end, if some university is inadequate, the admission test will be conducted this year with the rest of them excluding them. Although this test was initially called the Comprehensive Admission Test, it has now been renamed as “Central Admission Test in Public Universities” in English which is called CAT or CAT (Central Admission Test).

Currently there are 4 public universities operating in the country. However, seven universities, including national universities, open universities and Islamic Arabic universities, do not directly admit students.

The remaining 5 students were admitted to the university in the first year of graduation. These universities have about 5,000 seats in the first year of graduation (honors). Millions of students took the test. In order to reduce the suffering of the admission-seeking students and their parents, for many years there has been a concerted effort to take admission tests on a comprehensive or bunch basis.

As part of that effort, last year (current academic year), seven agricultural universities were jointly taking admission tests. This year, all the universities are expected to take admission tests centrally from the current academic year (2020-21).

When talking to multiple UGC members and multiple vice-chancellors, they said there would be a total of three exams for science, humanities and business education. This means that a student will take only one admission test according to the department. Taking into account the uniqueness of the universities, the number (score) and merit list of the students will be published through the Central Admission Test.

The score will be from zero to number 5. The universities will then recruit students from that list as per their demand. For example, if the authorities of Dhaka University or BUET (if finalized) agree that they will enroll more than 5 students found in the examination, Then they will publish admission notification based on that demand.

Apart from the central admission test numbers, the universities will be able to arrange points from the GPA obtained by SSC and HSC. The whole job will be online. As a result, after applying for admission to the universities, students should apply separately for admission to the university, but they do not have to suffer.
